OPEN ROLE — N°03

News Orchestrator (Freelance)

GERMANY / REMOTE-FIRSTFREELANCE
THE SETUP

Freelance · Remote-first · flexible hours.

THE ROLE

You take full ownership of several community newsletters. In shared production sessions you and the team build each edition and make sure our communities get the best one they've ever had, week after week.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Own up to 10 community newsletters end to end: pick the stories, quality-check them, run the final fact-check and send.
Curate the sources for each community: find and connect new ones, and keep an eye on their quality.
Join the team's regular production sessions, build your editions together and check each other's work hard for mistakes before anything goes out.
WHO YOU ARE
At ease with modern AI tools (e.g. Claude Code, Claude Cowork). You use them confidently in day-to-day work.
A sharp instinct for content and fact-checking. You spot weak sources, false conclusions and bad tone instantly.
An absolute eagle eye for spelling and grammar. You catch every last typo before a reader ever could.
Editorial or quality-assurance experience (editing, proofreading, research, content ops).
German at native level.
A plus: real local roots. You're anchored in a town or region you call home.
WHAT WE OFFER
A flexible freelance setup with a real sense of team, where you stay independent and plan your own time.
Flexible hours you organize yourself, fully remote within Germany.
A funded, mission-driven startup at the ground floor, building local media that reaches real people: you see the whole thing, from fundraising to the field.
HOW WE HIRE
A short intro chat with one of the founders.
A paid trial run producing one community newsletter as your onboarding.
Offer.
